About Us

As a daughter of Salvadoran immigrants, I always grew up feeling the lack of representation of my culture in my community. When I would tell people I was from El Salvador I would get the follow up question of - "Oh, so are any of your family members part of the gangs?" or the comment of "Oh wow, I would never travel to El Salvador".

Growing up, I didn't feel very connected to my roots. It wasn't until I was in my late 20's that I began visiting the country. The first time I went, I bought a pair of handmade earrings and a handmade purse to carry a piece of El Salvador with me. When people began to ask where I had purchased these items I realized that this was an opportunity to support artisans in El Salvador, bring awareness to the stunning handmade goods and to connect other first-gen Salvadoran Americans to their roots.

La Casita exists to share my culture with my community. We are preserving ancestral art through handmade goods. A luxury brand that remembers its roots.

So - if you have purchased anything from our brand, thank you. You are part of this mission and this dream.
